Sunita's makerspace – All you need is space
We started quite tentatively in 2021. Schools opened. Learners started coming back to school. We started with only with the major sports. Naturally, we had very few enrollments. Equally few were activities.
But within just a year, SM Academy started noticing a healthy interest. It has now become a hub of activities. At present, a workshop or a competition is held every day at the Academy.
A workshop on singing today will be complemented by a singing competition a couple of days later. Meanwhile, the drama mentor would be teaching how to get into character. While the drama workshop is in progress, the taekwondo mentor would be busy showing how to defeat a bigger opponent.
Competitions would follow next. They test these tips and tricks learnt in the workshops. On 24 July more than four hundred participants gathered a the premises. They hailed from different places in Gujarat. They participated in the first ever All Gujarat Taekwondo competition. Before that, two badminton kept the court busy. We saw a crowd of about two hundred at the school.

At the workshop, the speaker talked about the career prospects in rocket science and astronomy. He introduced learners to the science and technology behind rockets and drones. The secrets of the universe found a high place in the interaction.
