“It’s time for the human race to enter the solar system.”
At Gajera Trust, nature is not just our muse, but our Guru, our teacher and our inspiration for innovation. Through various schools, colleges and our children’s home, we honour and recreate depth of learning that empowers learners to soar towards their dreams. Our belief in transformative education combined with our deep approach to pedagogy tackles children’s curiosity about the world through practical means. As part of our experiential learning modules and praxis-based implementation, our learners create interactive projects of the world to understand it better.
Setting a fine example for the rest of the world, Cochin airport is the inspiration for an exceptional Maker’s Day project that recreates a true-to-scale model of the world’s first fully powered solar airport.
Attempting to reduce its carbon footprint by over 3 lakh metric tonnes – equivalent to planting 3 million trees, Cochin airport comes equipped with a dedicated solar plant, making it the perfect study for our learners to witness large scale and fully functional projects that keep nature in mind.
“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.”
Spearheaded by Director and Founder, Sunita’s Makerspace – Kinjal Chunibhai Gajera, Maker’s Day is a unique, inclusive and imaginative event, held every year on October 12 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Smt. Sunita Chunibhai Gajera.
Devoted to our young learners and visionary educators, this year Maker’s Day has seen thousands of makers and hundreds of mentors create countless, equally imaginative projects infused with the spirit of inquiry that we aim to activate through projects that are practical and interesting.
“Mother nature has the best box of crayons.”
Inspired by our legacy for nature-integrated learning, Maker’s Day 2021 has come a full circle with lessons and discoveries that have been astounding. Dedicated to seeding, planting and nurturing innovation with mother nature in mind, the day has brought together Makers and Mentors who are passionate about eco-friendly initiatives, green endeavours and environmentally-conscious learning that is unique to our curriculum.
At Gajera Trust, our educational initiatives emphasise the importance of green learning. Our pedagogy advocates for a sustainable society based on alternative energy sources. Through “Innovation”, our learners across 18 campuses have been active participants in building and competing for solutions that use eco-friendly elements and processes to create change.
The word “energy” means the ability to do work.
At Gajera Trust, our unique, interactive module introduces young learners to solar energy within the classroom in order to implant curiosity that could change the course of the future.
Striving towards green initiatives that empower self-sustainability, we welcome such thoughtful and proactive projects from our learners that hope for ONE better tomorrow.
