Sunita’s Makerspace is an innovation-driven space where passionate individuals can thrive together to work on creative and sustainable projects. It has ventured to a unique virtual platform wherein makers with different talents can showcase their expressions of hopes, dreams, and happiness, even during the looming shadows of the COVID 19 pandemic.
At Smakerspace, individuals can dream, design, and create. Smakerspace provides spaces for individuals to cultivate their innovative minds, creativity, social, and synergy through events, workshops, and other 16 club activities like music, drama, photography, maths, and more.
It focuses to encourage “young minds” to develop a career of their choice. Smakerspace provides them with the platform for ideas, innovations, plans, concepts, solutions along with peer-to-peer learning. It also heartens today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Nobody shares the same ideology, and their interpretation of something could be drastically different from yours. Being exposed to new points of view can offer new perceptions and ideas. Innovative thinking is the key, here at Smakerspace, every individual is provided the space for illustrating their innovative thinking and work.
The workshop held in Smakerspace helps makers to show their creative side, it’s entirely possible to learn something new. For example, a pottery course may have you using a type of clay you’ve never experimented with before.
Workshops at Smakerspace can help you gain exposure by introducing new ways to showcase your work. Through all these activities makers can inculcate various skills and can open doors to many opportunities.
When you have an audience, you’re more driven to complete your project. Being part of a workshop is great for providing such motivation as it’s a promise someone else will view your work. Again, if the meetup is held multiple times and additional content is expected each time, it’s all the more incentive to create more. It’s not a sure-fire way to fight creative block, but it can certainly help.
Studies with no breaks diminish productivity. It’s good to take one’s mind off the troubles of exams or reports from time to time—something that participating in events can provide. A study break lets makers recuperate by focusing on activities that exercise other creative, innovative, social, and synergic aspects.
Social events develop social skills and empathy—the outward-oriented dimensions of emotional intelligence (EQ). The interactions or conversations elicited by events helps makers build relationships, understand different perspectives, and engage other cultures.
At Smakerspace, makers can expand their confidence by taking part in various club activities like music, drama, photography, and 13 more. Through these clubs, makers can overcome their insecurities and add value to life.
By immersing makers in arts education, Smakerspace draws them into an incredibly complex and multifaceted endeavor that combines many subject matters (like mathematics, history, language, and science) while being uniquely tied to culture.
Our world is built through communication. Makers learn a multitude of communication skills by studying the arts and crafts. For instance, in the very process of being in a music ensemble, makers must learn to verbally, physically, and emotionally communicate with their peers and audience. Taking part in events of Smakerspace will enable makers to meet people who share common interests and individuals who can help them academically or even professionally.
Take Away from Smakerspace-
Every maker is bestowed with a special gift, which is not only confined to academics and can be well beyond. All it requires is the proper recognition. Smakerspace helps the makers to acknowledge their hidden talents. These activities also open the makers as well as their parents, towards a possibility of success of the maker in a non-academic genre, which makes it no less of a success or achievement in the long run.
These activities help in the rejuvenation and recreation of the mind. These priorities themselves need a space to breathe so that they can work at their best shortly. Furthermore, Smakerspace is utilized by these extra-curricular activities because they help in multiple ways, such as mentioned above.
Thus, to sum up, all we can say is that the academics, as well as these engaging activities, should go hand in hand, for the child to have a complete development.
